10 miles this morning in NYC. A good run on a beautiful morning.
Happy Holidays, guys!
4.5 miles this morning. Just a half inch of snow on the ground made it beautiful. Merry Christmas, all!
Sam--Sorry to hear about the layoff. As I've told more than one runner I've coached, there are lots of races but you only have one body. Fortunately you'll bounce back in a few weeks.
Five easy miles this morning recovering from yesterday's hill repeats. Wore a string of ten jingle bells in addition to Santa hat and got lots of smiles and "Merry Christmas" wishes from those we passed. Realized bells' additional benefit as a training aid during the run: I got much better bell action if I did better with left leg lift and toe-off!
I hope all of you have an awesome christmas
Sam, all the best to you. Look forward to posts of your mileage when you resume running. You're an inspiration for me. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas to all!
16 easy miles this afternoon, before taking the daughter to see "War Horse".
A sluggish 4 miles the day after Christmas. Atoning for my sins at the pie table, yesterday.
Hoping to see "War Horse" this afternoon.
couple of good runs in MN. Its funny they have these "trails" that are paved....not a fan.
Christmas eve ran 13 in 1:48, ran 7 this morning in 56 minutes.
It was crazy windy out.
I got a new Salomon running jacket, and I have to say its pretty amazing in its wind protection.
8 miles this morning. My muscles were very tight, unusually so; I struggled a bit at the start.
14 miles this morning. Now I get to apply my graduate learning to try and figure our how to operate this Polar heart monitor..
10 with a "fast" finish.
Still not running, BUT I am planning to study abroad in South America next fall, and found out that the Buenos Aires Marathon is going to happen in september. First international marathon? maybe.
Got in some descent runs over the past few days:
12/24 - 6.18 miles on the trails in south jersey in 45:31
12/25 - 6.76 miles on the trails in south jersey in 50:09
12/26 - 7.94 miles in central park in 53:01
12/27 - 3.32 miles on the treadmill in 20:56
Trying to really build up my base so that by mid January I'm easily cranking out 16-20 miles without much effort. 178 days to Western states (not that I'm counting)
10 miles this morning and a strength workout at the Y.
Sam--Wow, Buenos Aires! I ran the Grachtenloop 10-mile in Amsterdam a few years back and local TV station reporter grabbed me afterward because he knew I had traveled the greatest distance among all the participants. At the end of the interview he ripped through a line of Dutch (which I don't speak) and asked me to repeat it. After hammering a 10-mile race, I tried my best. After my fourth try he said thanks and left me wondering if the sentence was something intended to give the locals a good laugh. We can hope.
Sam, Congrats! This sounds like a lot of fun and a good opportunity.
