1. I'd like to announce that animated avatars are now available again. You'll have to reload, but they are once more possible.

We've been doing a ton of work behind the scenes. The site load speed was already under 1/2 of what Huddler's was, on average, and we installed cloudflare, which means that the site should be even faster. A ton more will go on in the weeks and months to come, and some things will be more visibile, and some less.

    Cheers,

    Fok.

Running one mile against a winter wind, dodging snow banks, and not slipping on ice is like running two! :D

The hard part, for me, is to remember to drink water even though the temp is in the 'teens.
Too many layers can make the run into a sauna.

    enough of this bullshit treadmill...
Ill take pics and also I have an app that does the elevation gain and loss, I am curious to see the profiles as this place is either up or down, no flats in my 5 mile loop.

    Check twitter for pics.

Secret spot didnt let me down....
Lots of deer-bucks with big horns
the weeds are dead, so I only got minor cuts, the big sustained steep climb, I ran the first .3 miles of, power hiked the rest up.
I did fall, as the leaves are slick and the footing was challenging, but oh well.
Did 5 miles in 45 minutes, took a few phone calls and a few water breaks.

Weather was 45, the wind was insane at the top, but in the woods it was calm.

    Pics are up on twitter.

3.2 at sunset yesterday. For the first time since I started running more than two years ago, I got a stitch in my side, and I had to stop.

    2 off days this week.
Trying to commit to getting rested up because I just came to the sobering realization that I am pacing a 3:05 marathon in 12 weeks, as a workout.
I know I need to get in at least 8 weeks over 75 miles between now and then, and then up it further for BOSTON.
Marathon training is a strange thing.
Is anyone doing a turkey trot? my dad and I are doing our second annual this year, and I am hoping to beat him by 4+ minutes per mile.

My secret spot run really beat me up. I pushed it hard and it bit my ass.....
I am crazy sore in my quads and my hips. Kind of scary, as in 4 miles, there is about 1800-2000 vert gain and loss and I feel this bad after 5 miles.....eeek. I have alot of work to do.
    Long run tomorrow (12+ miles).

did yall see the JFK 50 mile race today? Insane fast!

ran a 3 mile race this morning in 15'58. Came in third, well behind a couple high-schoolers who finished 2nd and 22nd at the State XC meet a couple weeks ago.
Course was completely flat but it was crazy windy this morning which made it tough at times.

6.5 this morning (personal best distance), mostly on rough dirt roads, which was a nice change from my normal road loops. felt like I could've keep running - and I'm not sore now. will try 8 miles in the next week or two.

Getting beat by high schoolers is my usual fate in 5k's. At least the ones you lost too were clearly very good. Great race.
I am resting my body for a few more days, as I think I am getting sick. Sucks.
