There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

anyone else here find that the more they run the more they do it "for the sport"? I used to be big into tracking my time/pace, had a Nike sportband for a couple of years but nowadays I find much more enjoyment out of just going out there with my shuffle and run at a good pace for me.
Did a few races (2 halfs and a 10K) and they were cool but honestly the best part of running is doing it without having to worry about numbers like it's a J.O.B. Most times I run I see a few dudes wearing those heart-rate monitors and the straps around the chest, doing fast/slow intervals and it seems pretty tedious (I get the same feeling whenever I peruse through Runner's World). Then again I'm not a super-hardcore runner. 3x8mi per week is good enough for me, that way I still have time for other sports; so maybe I'm just exposed to the more competitive amateurs in my area, especially since I run on a pretty nice urban trail.

I did 8.5 miles this morning mostly through neighborhoods I had never run through. It was a nice change of scenery.

My tracking functions as a commitment device, and I also like to see my progress. My buddy who's been running for much longer than I have has recently stopped wearing anything other than a watch and he's quite happy. He's more obsessive than I am, though, so I think he enjoys it more if he can't drill down on the details of his running.

yea it might just be a phase. I used to be pretty obsessive about tracking my runs and pace, now I'm the complete opposite. Maybe at some point I'll go back into tracking stuff, although I kinda doubt it.

Pics look great NYR. I did a five miler yesterday evening and noticed a digital thermometer reading 101 degrees. I don't mind the heat and humidity so much and find it is a matter of what one gets used to.

6.5 this morning. Finally back to some decent pace and the last half-mile at 7:30. Which is blazing fast for me.

Just realized that today's run took me past my total distance for all of last year.

    Progress.

Great pics Rob, thanks for sharing those. There was a bit of a break in the humidity today, did you notice? Ran 4.5 miles today, sans iPod, which was surprisingly nice.

    Hey All,
Just got back from a week in the north of Chile.
3 days of running at 0 altitude at the beach (with one 15 mile run ft. 4 mile tempo between miles 8 and 12 (5:48 avg pace)
3 days at 8000 ft. running slow 10 miles every day. It was awesome to run through Incan ruins each day.
Training has been solid, but I have been damn busy and intend to post more consistently.
Will read over the past few pages now to see how everyone is.
    A few images of running/vacation . . .
Ran into friends running in the ruins: [IMG] explaining that it is hard to run at 8000 feet (wearing all Boston Marathon gear . . . [IMG] after getting out of hot springs at 530am in freezing northern chile: [IMG] geysers (same source as the hot springs): [IMG]
