0 today in advance of tomorrow's half marathon. Its weird going into a race that I have been focusing on that is not a marathon. Not sure how it will go, but I did pick myself out an awesome vintage Nike wind breaker at a thrift store near the expo today.
Glad I am not running a full, as the weather looks to be warm (both in Long Beach and Chicago).
Hope Ryan Hall wins chicago tmro, and I will report back on how it goes.

A late morning 4.5 mi that ended with a long walk with my dog. Perfect weather that made the run and walk all the better.

Ran the Long Beach International City Bank Half Marathon today in 1:18:27 (5:59 pace)
I am super happy with the result.
I ran a typically stupid race, setting a 10k pr (34:36) en route to a 59 minute 10 mile split. The last 5k was really ugly, but I kept it together enough to still get that sub 6. Could not be happier with how it went, especially considering how poor a strategist I am.
28th male finisher, and 5th in my age group.

Ran the Big House Big Heart 10K Race this morning in Ann Arbor. An absolutely glorious fall day. Race course zig zagged through the campus ending inside Michigan Stadium. I was surprised that the (fairly steep) hill on Division Street wasn't so bad. Running across the finish line, runners could see themselves on the huge Jumbletron scoreboards. Really cool. Running through the Michigan Stadium tunnel was a thrill, also. Nearly 14,000 people participated. I stayed up too late, last night, watching the rain delayed Tigers-Rangers game. I ran about a 9 minute mile. Afterwards, every breakfast place in Ann Arbor was filled with race runners.

I only had time for 2 very fast-paced miles early this morning. Wanted to do more but had to get ready for an 8 a.m. presentation.

if you can hold it for 16 and not feel totally wasted, you can hold it for a marathon. How did you feel afterwards?

The usual, fine for about 30 minutes then sick to my stomach for an hour after that, then fine again.

No doubt inspired by the Detroit Lions victory, last night, I ran 3 miles in about 20 minutes which is fast for me. A Tiger victory, tonight, would really be inspiring.
