This morning's sunrise was "Pure Michigan".
6 miles nice and easy today, 3 in shoes and 3 in VFF.
18 saturday, rested Sunday even though Irene turned bitch. 7.5 tonight.
Fought with my stomach to get 10.5 in today. It was a little sketchy (3 bathroom stops) and it was not the easiest run ever (80-85 with no breeze).
Slow as f*ck.

.5 mile warmup, 6 x 1mile repeats, cooldown.
3 x 1200 with 200 rest between sets. Was supposed to run 1:48 per 400 but wound up going 1:44 or less. The last set, I turned 1:42, 1:41, 1:39
Tonight, I ran the 8K Grand Prix Shakedown race on Belle Isle on the Detroit River. What a magnificent course. Fantastic views every step. About 200 runners competed. All proceeds went to charity. I ran my usual 8:30 mile.
I keep bringing my running shoes with me when I race so that I can run the track, but by the time the day is over, I always feel more like cracking open a beer than running. I hope to break the cycle when we race at Sears Point this fall.
Anyway, 4.6 this morning. Knee still acting up, though.
10 or 11 later with 10 x 500 in 90-92 seconds. Felt really good on this workout and kept my 400 meter splits very consistent (73/74)
Did a 2.5 mile hill climb yesterday. My outer quads feel awesome, my PT kept them strong.
On another note....
WTF with our American Ultra Runners at UTMB? They got destroyed in every possible way.
Any one else follow it on Twitter this weekend?
It seems as though the European mountain runners have more than a leg up on our runners.
4.5 this morning in heavy rain. It felt good.
About 32 minutes this morning after taking the last 4 days off due to an old calf injury. It sucks getting old....
7.5 tonight, also finally got back in the gym today for some shoulders and arms. On a low note, being in the gym gave me access to the scale, where I found out that i enjoyed my vacation a bit too much. Now need to cut and marathon train simultaneously.
10 last night slow.
hard track workout on tuesday has left me sore.
