first run in my new Nike Lunar Elite+ 2 tonight - 3 mile tester.
Plantar fasciitis kicked in after 2 miles :fu:

Can anyone recommend a good forefoot strike shoe, with arch support?

People love asics gel nimbus for that type of shoe,
I strike with the forefoot and prefer the New Balance 890 (for support)
Some will also point you towards newton, although those run pricey for a pair of trainers that last a month. Give compression socks a try also, They seem to help me when I am having lower leg issues.

The best shoe out there for support/forefoot strike is the Saucony Mirage.
Its basically the Kinvara with a post for arch support.
    They are inexpensive as well.
There are a few others out there that I have no experience with, but I do run in the Kinvaras and I love them.

BTW, 2 more weeks and I can officially run again!!!!!

Thanks antirabbit - these were the ones I was looking at so it's good to get consensus! The only problem I heard was they wear quite quickly. But, as you say they're pretty reasonable so I think I'll go for it :slayer:

Once I learned how to run in them, my Newtons lasted well beyond the 500 mile threshold. I just retired my last pair after running in them for almost a full year, no issues AT ALL, infact, I've never been healthier. I did have to ruin one pair though figuring out how to run on them, but like I said, once you got it down they last much longer than the standard running shoe.

Get them at runningwarehouse and do a google search for a club code and get another 15% off their pricing. Basically, they will be crazy cheap.

4.6. Chest cold made it sorta miserable and slower than other recent runs.

The p90x ab workout is indeed funny. Also did the stretching routine... Very similar to my yoga routine although the latter only takes half the time and I dont have that annoying voice telling me the "tip of the day is to breathe". Cant do the core performance thing though as I neither have weights nor am I able to jump around in my apartment (gotta respect the neighbours)

This morning 3.5 that started out sluggish. It was really muggy, and I found myself sweating profusely.

Ten miles at 90% effort in heat and humidity. Had to take occasional :20-:30 breaks to manage the heat stress.

Driving home from work a half hour ago, a dude was running in this 98 F heat. I couldn't do that.
