Banged out a rough 10k in 46:43. The weird part was that I was really huffing and puffing after the first two miles, afterwards I felt like I held back a bit...but my times didn't rise much. Once I was done, it was obvious I'd been pressing, but for a while I just wasn't feeling it at all.

Ugh...one solitary mile in 9:22. About 3/4ths of the way round my left calf just screwed itself up into a little ball of pain and I had to hobble the last 400m. The past week whenever I've been out for a run I feel as though my calves are going to cramp around the first mile, but are fine shortly after, but today I couldn't even get past one. Any idea if this is simply overexertion on my part, or a dietary thing (lack of potassium maybe?), or just a simple injury?

10 this evening at about 6:40 pace,
Running in new Saucany Kinvara 2's, which caused 0 problems on the run. Usually new shoes have an adjustment period, but these have felt pretty good right out of the gate.
I can tell my body is protesting getting back into 70+ mile a week routine, but it is nice to feel normal again.

7 miles (and climbed ~3,000 feet), but on the elliptical. Can't really "run" because of a foot injury.

15 this afternoon - it was warm out and I didn't rehydrate til mile 12 so I ended up being pretty tired over the last few.
Running high mileage is like doing drugs - you build up a tolerance and then anything less than that doesn't seem to cut it. Fortunately unlike drugs, running has a net positive effect on one's quality of life.

~8 miles and climbed 5122 feet on the elliptical, on close to the highest level of difficulty. Took me a little over 2 hours -- it was brutal, but worthwhile.

Day off today, my program is basically 5k faster than the time before (did it about 28:30 the other day), then when I can't improve my time I do the same pace for 6k. Going to try for a minute less than that tomorrow and see if I can speed things up for the last 1k.
