1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Excellent. The fan is de rigueur for the treadmill workout. My former gym had treadmills with fans built in which made it tolerable, but the current one does not. :(

about nine with a solid "ladder" or "pyramid" workout
    400: :79 (shitty)
    800: 2:34
    1200: 3:55
MILE: 5:11(had to run out into lane 8 on the last lap cost me a few seconds)
    1200: 3:53
    800: 2:31
    400: 65

A really good workout for me even though I wanted to go a bit faster on the mile. Splits were consistent all the way through, and I think I am in around 16 flat 5k shape. Looking forward to racing a Turkey Trot.

First you get used to the cold, then you learn how not to get too hot running with a ton of layers on......

Personally, winter is my favorite time to run as no one else is out running and I have all my routes to myself.
Living in the Chicagoland area and near the lake, both cold, and ass loads of snow are what we contend with.

I have found that winter running sets up a very strong spring for me.

5 this morning. actually went out on my 4 1/3 loop, but had to take a detour due to unexpected road construction. 5 is the farthest i've run since i was 14 or so. after 2 days off, i felt great - like i could've run longer. and my time for the 4 1/3 would be very close to my personal best.

Running one mile against a winter wind, dodging snow banks, and not slipping on ice is like running two! :D

The hard part, for me, is to remember to drink water even though the temp is in the 'teens.
Too many layers can make the run into a sauna.

Secret spot didnt let me down....
Lots of deer-bucks with big horns
the weeds are dead, so I only got minor cuts, the big sustained steep climb, I ran the first .3 miles of, power hiked the rest up.
I did fall, as the leaves are slick and the footing was challenging, but oh well.
Did 5 miles in 45 minutes, took a few phone calls and a few water breaks.

Weather was 45, the wind was insane at the top, but in the woods it was calm.

    Pics are up on twitter.

3.2 at sunset yesterday. For the first time since I started running more than two years ago, I got a stitch in my side, and I had to stop.

    2 off days this week.
Trying to commit to getting rested up because I just came to the sobering realization that I am pacing a 3:05 marathon in 12 weeks, as a workout.
I know I need to get in at least 8 weeks over 75 miles between now and then, and then up it further for BOSTON.
Marathon training is a strange thing.
Is anyone doing a turkey trot? my dad and I are doing our second annual this year, and I am hoping to beat him by 4+ minutes per mile.
