yeah the new boston system seems like a real pain ********** to anyone who is not significantly faster than their qualifying standards. Its a real pain ********** if you are under 35, because you will need to break 2:55 for priority registration.

3.0 miles in 29 minutes last night. I do that course about 3x per week and am too lazy to feel like going any further.

Thanks! Afterwards, well...I was out of breath for a moment, then I ran to the shower since it was in the 60's already and I've not yet adjusted to the new temps. It's a funny feeling to get out of a cold shower and break a sweat all over again, particularly this early in the year.

Other than that, not bad. Gotta keep the salt intake up for the first few hours of the day, though.

One thing I'm working on is bringing my heel up more: right now I don't think either of my feet come off the ground more than half-a-foot or so - which makes me think I'm running mostly from the calves, and I'd like to involve my hamstrings more. I made an effort this time to do that, we'll see if it has an effect.

^Working on form is such a pain **********!
Today I have been trying to figure out whether or not my arm swing is costing me or not, and I cant make heads or tails of it. I think I am going to make an effort to get to a track club workout to get some more input on my form in general.
I will post a link to a video that makes sense on foot strike form though, it has changed the way I run:
http://runningtimes.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=17578 the guy pete mcgill is a top Masters runner (He won the USA XC cross in san diego two weeks ago)
Had a crappy day of travel today, but I got into Beaver Creek and ran off my frustration. Ended up putting out a 42:34 10k with a couple of faster/slower miles on the treadmill.
Running a 10k at 9,000 feet is a real ***** but sweating out the airport grime felt amazing.
Among things Frontier Airlines Lost my Board Bag which is a major bummer, but I may end up in the nordic sports section of the mountain tomorrow.
