4.5 miles today, hit 4 miles in 32 minutes, backed off and used the rest to cool down.
Any one have any tricks with plantar faciatis?

RE Treadmill question....after you get used to running outside, you will find it very difficult to do an equal amount on the treadmill. I dont use mine to do anything over 4 miles. Its so boring.
I would recomend putting the incline up to about 3-3.5.
Anyhow, get some microspikes and run outside. Run some trails or paths. You need to get used to the feeling of the road beneath your feet and the variations that come with it. Its part of what makes running so much fun.
Are you on a training program for the half?

I typically try to do 2 miles every day .... although I think I should be spacing out my runs more.

Freeze a water bottle (Dasani variety, not the re-useable variety), put the frozen bottle on the ground and roll it back and forth under your foot.

I've also used golf balls with some success, though I prefer the water bottle.

10K today. Read some posts about running on the treadmill and braving Nature.

living in the city as I do, I find it a safer (in all ways) alternative to train on the treadmill and run outside when there are organized fun runs or marathons.

I find that I perform better when I run outside though.

I'm going to do it all winter, but damned if I'll enjoy it. Your kind are gluttons for punishment.
