6.25 k yesterday and a 10k today. Both after heavy drinking the night before so the pace was 'sub optimal' [IMG]

Went running -- or rather training -- with some co-workers today.

~2 km warmup, mostly in my (still fairly new) fivefingers.

Then my left calf decided to remind me to take «barefoot» running easy in the beginning (i.e. I suddenly got a painful cramp in the back of my left calf), so I stretched and switched to more traditional running shoes before slowly completing the warmup.

After that, 4 x 4 minutes of HIIT, with a bit less than 1 km each time, before slowly jogging back to the office. Boy, am I out of shape.

Now that left calf will probably be painful for a couple of days, but I'll live to run (faster) another day.

Got a sony W series walkman earlier today. Basically just a water resistent headphone with built in mp3 player. Thus far it has been straightforward to upload music and use.
We will see about it on a short tempo run tonight. . . .

After a few days off for travel and other issues, back at it.

5.3 miles in 40:06 - had a good pace the first three loops, but the wheels came off on the last one.

6.25 in about 40 minutes. Yeah, only special flowers like myself can take a wrong turn on the "back" of an out and back.

    and 6 yesterday
    both un-timed
Sony W series mp3 thing works great even on a longer run.

This morning, 4 miles. Wind gusts were 15 mph--better than yesterday! Unusually bright moonlight--a beautiful morning.

Ran 6.2k in 27:35. Personal record and it felt great! Probably no running for a couple of days due to my overbooked agenda but I'm trying to squeeze in a 15k this weekend.

For those of you who run more than 5 miles / day, what are your body(muscle) compositions like? Are you guys lean and stringy? or muscular/toned? Just wondering.

I'm more muscular than skinny, but everyone in my running club is string bean status, the fast motherfuckers at least. There aren't any muscular dudes running faster than me, but the stringbeans who never cross train can pace at like 5:45 for as long as they want. Sigh.
