Sluggish 8.25 today. Decided to make it a point to point to my gal pal's house.
I hate stop lights - i almost never deal with them so when I encounter them it bums me out.

Last night I cleared out the slow songs in the ipod and dusted off the Supernova Comps I've had for years (and never worn) in preparation for speed work, and this morning I banged out 2.7 miles in 18:03. I was hurting towards the end but still ended with a second-loop pace of 6:42/mile, faster than my first loop.

3.5 miles and going to finally hit my trails on Sat.
I cant believe it doesnt hurt.
Getting back into it sucks....its amazing how fast fitness evaporates.

Oh, 2 new shoe suggestions:
1. Mizuno Wave Precisions (mine are the 10's)-RULE. I love them. Light and enough protection to shift back to a heel strike if you need to.
2. Saucony Kinvara-these fit like no other shoe I have worn. Feels like i am not wearing shoes, a more freeing experience than the Nike Frees, and really put you up on the mid-foot.

I could not agree more - I got these a few weeks ago and cannot stop telling people how great they are.

Word is they are coming out with a trail version called the Perregrine in early 2011 - cannot wait!

**** yeah!

Oddly these hold up just as well as my Mizunos, its like they were made to wear down to suit your strike and then the nubs made of rubber take over. Very cool design, and these babies are cheap!

those kinvaras look like a shoe that might be good for me, i may have to check them out sometime. On first glance they kinda remind me of the Nike Lunar-racers in a way, which i went througha couple pairs of back when they came out.
I always prefer lightweight, but not overly minimal shoes.. I am currently rotating between 3 different models of the Adidas Adizero shoes, and i really like them all.

Anyway, went to the track this afternoon and did some speed work for the first time in months.
Did 6 x 1mile in 5:42, 5:27, 5:31, 5:16, 5:23, and 5:14. Felt pretty good while running but feel absolutely great/energized now.

Started new training routine today. Intervals every other day. Not many miles today. But pretty good speed work. Tomorrow is distance run.
