How many miles did you run today?

Got in 12 miles today, an out and back. Uphill with wind in my face on the way out so back was certainly sweet. Frankenleg was bitching but hopefully that will fade over time. All in all I came out of this without too much damage.

Tomorrow will be just elliptical but will go at least 12 on Monday.

I'll be glad for cooler temps though as my new melanoma outfit is effing hot.

I'd love to hear more about what you're wearing and why (melanoma reference). I have a neighbor who runs and is always draped in white clothes, and has very large stripes of sunscreen covering any exposed skin. Meanwhile I've been lazy on applying my own for the most part this summer.

I've moved to non-thermal tights and sun protective arm guards. I always wore a buff and a skull cap, but adding in having both my arms and legs covered just makes it harder to disperse heat.

The why is because I had a big chunk of the front of my right shin excised, right down to the fascia, to remove a melanoma tumour back in March.

That's really great info..thanks for sharing, too. I would like to adopt at least your first set of protections, soon. The feeling of sun on neck does have a distinct tinge of paranoia for me. Hopefully your treatment and progress on the shin is positive. Cheers.

54 miles this afternoon. Did not eat enough before starting and didn’t have enough calories with me. It was also much warmer than the weather app suggested it would be, getting into the mid-80s. Stopped at a park around 35 miles to pour some water on myself and again about 42 miles in for some chips and a Coke. This ride is pretty fundamental to my previous fitness, and I need to get back to doing it regularly.

13.2 miles running on Saturday morning, 14 miles Sunday, and 6.3 today.

After pushing it the past couple days I was expecting to be a bit more wore out this morning but that wasn’t the case at all. It took me 15 minutes or so to get a good pace going, but once I was warmed up, I was below 8:00/mile the rest of the way.

Got in another 12 this morning, out and back. Out = 20 mph sustained wind...I sailed back.

Went running yesterday since I can't do any weightlifting at the moment with my bad back. Tried to do some light jogging for warmup and then some slow 400m sprints to not aggravate my PF too much. Only managed to do 1:50, 1:43, and 1:40 400m "sprints". I'm way out of shape right now.

8 miles this morning, mostly at the track.

School's back in session so I'm back to waking up extra early in order to get my run in and then home in time to help get the kids out the door. blah

This was my toughest ride in quite some time. Boulder Canyon to Fourmile Canyon to Poorman to Sunshine Canyon is a substantial climb when you haven’t been doing any real climbing.

The stop at Amante for coffee and a blueberry scone was a lifesaver.

7.3 miles yesterday after dinner. Was chasing the sunset so think I will need my headlamp soon if I move to evening runs.
