The only exercise I've gotten since Wednesday is walking up the ramps and stairs at Busch Stadium and the parking garage next door when we went to the game on Sunday. Headed back home this evening, so I guess my rest week is over.

9.3 miles this morning with some hill repeats mixed in there, and living in a relatively flat area, I'm using the term "hill" loosely. Looking at Strave at the two particular hill segments I did my repeats on, one of them is a 6.3% grade over 0.14 miles and the other is 14.3% over 0.06 miles. I did each segment 5x.

40 minutes of bouldering at the gym yesterday.

Today, I rode 11 miles of gravel after putting new tires on my bike. I must have pinched the tube in the rear tire when I was installing it, because I noticed it was going flat almost 5.5 miles from home. I was almost to a park with a shade structure, so I went there to fix it.

Despite the leaky tube, I came really close to getting top three on this segment.

I think I can get this KOM with the right conditions (mostly, no one else on the trail).

Gym yesterday and found out they got a hex bar, it is just stowed away as there is no floor space. Surprised they got new bars given the age/state of some of the other equipment. The rowers sound awful and could use either new chains or some chain lube.

I don't think I've ever noticed this on the segment KOM stats before:

I'll have to look at some of my favorite segments in the area to see if I have something like that popping up on them as it seems like it could be a sort of motivator to remind me to push myself.

One problem I have though is that a couple of the local segments I frequent are also on the high school cross country training route so there's usually some jerk kid skewing the times for us old folks! 😆

I stopped paying for Strava. Never used any of the features and only use the app because it connects to my work's HR system to give me credit and $$$ off certain things.

36.4 miles, mostly gravel. I rode past some folks doing the Boulder Rez Marathon today. I’d much rather be riding my bike when temps are in the upper 80s (it’s 94 now).

11 miles yesterday morning and 10.5 today.

Yesterday I pushed myself on every other mile trying to get those miles down below my 5k pace. It was hot and humid and I think I sweated out about 5 pounds of water when all was said and done.

Today’s run was primarily on gravel trails so I took it nice and easy. My pace was just about 10:00/mile.

3.77 miles. Yes, this was bike ride. We drove to Mill Valley to ride up Old Railroad Grade, when we got there, I noticed that my buddy didn’t have any pedals on his bike. Fortunately, we were within walking distance of a bike shop, so he bought some. Less than two miles into the ride, though, my derailleur hanger snapped.

I tried to go big chainring to big cog so I could single-speed back to the car, but there wasn’t enough tension. But it was almost all downhill, so I was able to coast nearly the entire way back to the car!
