Super hot 7.3 miles last night. Drank 40oz of water then chugged more when I got home. It was so hot, just standing around watering flowers was miserable.

This morning and last few days. Been warm/humid recently, even at 7am I was drenched in sweat within minutes

Two miles at lunch time, with temps in the upper 80s. This was just a shake out run for tomorrow’s race.

Leadville Heavy Half today. The weather was nearly perfect, with temps in the low 50s to low 60s. I got sprinkled on for maybe five minutes near the end. This course is pretty damned hard, with 3400+ feet of climbing in 15.6 miles. The views were very much worth the effort.

Judging by your facial expressions, I can tell!

30 miles sweeping a big group ride. It was fun and rewarding, but pretty frustrating at times, too.

9 miles Saturday then 10 miles yesterday. Best part about yesterday? My son who didn't want to ride a bike for the longest time now calls himself unstoppable riding around a local school parking lot. A couple laps on the balance bike going quickly from 1 parking spot width to 5 without touching the ground to swapping out to his peddle bike and cruising around. He is super chatty and somehow doesn't pay too much attention and didn't fall the entire time.

I ran 2.5 easy miles yesterday at lunchtime. My legs (quads especially) are still sore, but running felt good. Temps were into the upper 70s.

I haven't been posting in here all that often lately but the running continues.

We were in Northern Michigan last week and spent a couple of days on Mackinaw Island. I got in about 20 miles while we were there. I hadn't been there in probably 35 years and when I went with my parents we spent all of our time in the "downtown" area near the docks. I had no idea there were so many opportunities for running/hiking (8 miles along the waterline around the island and 75 miles worth of trails criss-crossing across the interior). There are also a lot more hills on the island than I realized. On the second morning, I got in 10 miles with more than 1,000' of climbing which is a lot more elevation than I am used to. Our hotel was near the base of one particularly great hill with a 13.2% grade and 125' of climb over 0.16 miles.

Here's a bridge off in the distance to make those bridges @sugarbutch occasionally posts look small. ;)

@Michigan Planner In the last pic, did you have to jump over horse gates on the trail?

It's hard to see in the photo but there is indeed a "gate" a little ways down the trail. The gates were just tree trunks placed across the trail held up by other trees (very rustic). I only went a few hundred yards down the trail since I was afraid of being run over by somebody on a horse.
