54 miles today, longest ride since February, and only my third over 50 this year. 89.5mi, 6h 59m, and 4,324ft for the week.

I’m surprised the StyleForum censors allowed you to post that route. Looks like you rode a wang!

6.2 miles just before lunch today.

I've been running the same roughly 10k route every Monday morning for a few years now but this past week the city completely tore up the road and sidewalks for a few blocks right in the middle of my route. I didn't think to map out a run for today before stepping out so I could make sure I'd get just about the same distance, but luckily my alternate route turned out to be nearly the same as what I normally run. I shaved about three blocks off of the run, but because of the diagonal of one of those missing blocks, it turned out to be less than a tenth of a mile less than most Mondays.

4 trail miles with one of our dogs while the youngest kid is napping. It felt good to get out of the mask for bit (for those that don’t follow the COVID thread, he tested positive yesterday (no one else in the house has tested positive)).

I am at that stage where I am getting back into it, and getting used to it again, but not yet losing any weight - which tends to start to happen as you get faster again. I just wonder whether I will get to that point before the first race I signed up for when I am away (June 5th).

I am at the higher end of the range I'd like to be at. Last summer I was ~182lbs and currently sit in the ~188lbs range. I have been going to the gym but don't want to say it is all muscle or anything. I do eat like a pig more than I should which is the likely culprit.

Normally, if I running regularly I keep a regular weight (whatever that is), and if I train purposefully then I lose weight. The problem is that if I have to stop running for any reason I immediately start to put on weight, not least because eating is comforting and if I am not running usually there is a either a psychological reason (I get depressed therefore I stop running) or an accompanying psychological decline (I real less fit therefore I get depressed) - but either way I want to eat more. I actually eat less when I am training and/or happy.

I haven't weighed myself recently and I don't want to, but I know I have put on maybe 2 inches around the waist and chest, because there are things I just can't wear comfortably right now.

While depression is not usually the driver for me (but it's certainly had its shot at me), that whole negative feedback cycle sounds very familiar. Hope you can stay injury-free and in a good head space.

I’m trying to take exercising more serious. I’ve been walking a minimum of 3 miles a day after work… (6k steps.. 1 hour of exercise is the goal) jogging some of it on good days but admittedly not that much. Some days I will double my goal like yesterday I walked 12.5k steps. The goal is really just to hit 6k and anything more then that is a bonus but I’m trying to take it to the next level so I bought a pair of running shoes. These things are like springs! It’s very hard to just walk in the shoes without having the urge to go faster. Just wanted to show them off. These are the Saucony endorphin speed 2’s

I walked five miles today, pushing Patient Zero in the stroller. He seemed to enjoying getting outside, and I brought my real camera. My walk was mostly along one of 4.5 mile run routes.
