How about if we all plan on having SF meet up at the April 2013 for the Boston Marathon? That will give us 2 years to qualify (not that a lot of you gentlemen need two years, but I sure do). Just thinking out loud, but here are the qualifying times:

QUALIFYING TIMES*
AGE GROUP MEN WOMEN
18-34 3hrs 10min 3hrs 40min
35-39 3hrs 15min 3hrs 45min
40-44 3hrs 20min 3hrs 50min
45-49 3hrs 30min 4hrs 00min
50-54 3hrs 35min 4hrs 05min
55-59 3hrs 45min 4hrs 15min
60-64 4hrs 00min 4hrs 30min
65-69 4hrs 15min 4hrs 45min
70-74 4hrs 30min 5hrs 00min
75-79 4hrs 45min 5hrs 15min
80 and over 5hrs 00min 5hrs 30min
*An additional 59 seconds will be accepted for each age group time standard. For example, a net time of 3:50:59 will be accepted for a 42-year-old woman.

Right now I would qualify if I was a 45 year old woman

. Worst case scenario is that I train like a madman and don't qualify, but end up in the best shape of my life. What do you guys think? Anybody in?

ive ran one marathon... finished in like 2:48. came through half in about 1:21, and kept that pace through 21 miles but then slowed considerably in the last 5.
I think my downfall was that i never ran longer than 17 in training.

6 miles in just about 45 minutes.

I like the '12 Boston Marathon meetup idea. I'm not nearly good enough of a runner at this point to commit, but the goal definitely seems worth striving for.

3 mile test effort at 18:25
Was actually pretty surprised that I held that pace, definatly a confidence builder to start picking up my pace on longer runs.

6.75 in 52 minutes.

I cant wait for spring. I have been running on pavement all winter and long to run the trails in the forest.

4 miles in 35 minutes. With the earlier rise of the sun, it is nice to start the run with a pitch black sky (stars and moon) and to end with the sun just starting to peek through the horizon. 22 degrees, but no wind. Still some ice and snow on the running paths.

This afternoon, the temp reached nearly 40! I was so inspired, that I ran another 4 miles.

Today, a surprisingly brisk 5.3 miles in 38:40. Fairly even splits, no less.

Well, maybe not that surprising - the lats two days have been rough, and this morning (before running) I wrapped up an accounting exam, so the clouds are parting.

3 miles, in the cold and slush, after an hour of intense crew practice. 29 mins. Gotta get faster.

^ Eating eels is big in some SE Asian countries.. grilled (after oiling/buttering them up) eels is one of my favorite street foods.

NYRanger, your pics seem to be taken with a pretty steady hand for someone running that fast.
