4.3 miles this morning with temps in the 20s.

Generally we'd be in Naples, Florida for most of April but I'm stuck here with the sh!tty Great Lakes spring weather. I despise this time of year here. Maybe the cool temps wouldn't be so bad if there was actual sunshine or leaves on the trees.

Got 3.75 in this morning. Still slowly returning from my IT band problem. Got a couple 5 milers in over the weekend.

Silver lining is that with Boston being pushed out to September, gives me some more recovery time.

Did the long run that I should have done of the weekend, this afternoon. 21.6km (13 1/2 miles) which I was aiming to ease round in 5:30/km pace - I did that until about 5k to go, at which point I decided to go tempo, since I hadn't done a fast run for a while. Ended up with 1:54:03 (5:17/km) average. A bit later than planned, I am now tapering towards my (now, solo) Half on April 26th.

And I like the Great Lakes climate, even this time of year... for me these few months are perfect for running, before it gets too hot.

Okay well...I failed. 29 miles. 4040 ft elevation change. Two 30 min+ coffee breaks. Pack weight approx 25 lbs. Started at 6am, finished at 7:30 pm.

I also walked across an old iron bridge that has only the longitudinal girders left. That was fun.

I rode 8.3 on my mountain bike before the storm started, after an aborted spin on the trainer (25 minutes, cut short because one of the kids wouldn’t sleep).
