Am running kind of a double marathon at the end of March - it’s a marathon each day of a weekend over the same course. Just fancied trying something different and it’s near my folks. So this weekend I’m doing back-to-back long runs. This was today, will do a similar distance or maybe a touch longer tomorrow, probably around 9mm pace, which will be target pace for the double marathon

My Garmin was drunk over the week but 7 miles Friday afternoon, 7 miles Saturday, then 8.5 miles yesterday. Garmin decided I ran 1.4 miles Saturday and 9 yesterday.

I am finally done painting the kids play room.

4 trail miles with the dogs. Would you believe it was 73 yesterday? The temperature is 21, and we’ve had about 3-4” of snow so far, with up to 10” forecasted.

My son has gymnastics on Tuesday evenings, so I ran with him as he cycled there, and then went out for a run around the whole area, and ran back with him when he finished (11km in total, just over 6 3/4 miles) . I did this all at long run pace (6:00/km), as a test of my hamstring. It seems to be okay, finally, but I'm still not going to push it. I will go to the track tonight, but I will run with the 4:30/km group (instead of my usual 4:00/km group), and I may even run slower than that.

I played it even safer and did not go to the track last night. I decided that the temptation to run faster than I should was too dangerous and even if I can't feel anything wrong, my leg might not be fully repaired.. I will go for a long, slow run tomorrow.

5 miles with the dogs. It was on the slow side, but considering that we were on ice and snow-covered sidewalks and paths, I’ll take it. Temps in the upper teens.

It was little colder here today (below 0ºC overnight) and I waited until after 9am to go out for 11.75km at 'marathon pace' (5:00/km or over) along the Sumida River and through Asakusa. I checked my pace during the first half and it was just under 5, and I decided to slow a bit - or so I thought: at the finish my average pace was 4:52.

I felt great, but that's part of the problem: I've really got to watch this because running too fast is how ended up with hamstring problems in the first place. Maybe I need some other method of monitoring and control, like an HRM. Heart rate is apparently much more reliable in terms of training zones anyway.

Looking at @Wing0's spaghetti route-mapping reminded me - what happened to the similarly-squiggly-route-running @Dusty Heaters? Last time we heard from him here he seemed to be struggling, so I just wondered if he's okay...
