Yea a while back we had this discussion somewhere here about how PR's don't always correlate across multiple distances/disciplines or whatever. The 2x50 at 1:54 sounds harder than it is IMO and I was always better at the longer stuff. Anyway as a LW, my best 2k was 6:40 and 5k was somewhere in the low/mid 18 minute area...

Good and well...but what is your high score on the fish game?

Hahah, never played it... is it fun? I'll give it a try sometime.

30' at 1:52.9. My avg. split was at 1:53.7 with 2 mins. to go, and then I went crazy, got to about 1:39, and dropped that mo'fucka. Probably could've/should've pulled harder for the first 28' of the piece, but it's all good. Also, I've been emailing the Lwt. coach at a school I'm very interested in; he wants me at 6:45 ASAP. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] At least I know exactly what I need to do.

Thats legit. If you can do 30' @ 1:52.9 then you are very close to doing my 2x50min times.

And how tall are you? I'll guess at least 6'2", with that frame you could bust out 20lbs of muscle and get in to a heavyweight program which of course means more glory. I personally regret not eating my face off and gaining some good weight to get heavy. What I mean is don't put all your eggs in one basket in terms of deciding 100% to be a Lwt. It's easier to drop weight than gain it.

Anyway... as a part of another workout I did a short 4k @ 1:55 flat, slowly coming back to things...

    30' @ 1:56
    15' @ 1:54

I'd planned to do 2x30', but had to stop for dinner. Anyway, according to Paul's Law, the piece from last night indicates that I'm up to pull a 6:51.8. To be strong enough to pull a 6:44.9 2k, I'd need to hold a 1:51.3 for 30'.

As a part of another workout, 3 x 1500m with 2 min active rest (rowing) between. Didn't go too hard on the first one, didn't know what to expect from myself.

1:54.0; 1:49.3; 1:46.0 - Pretty happy with the final time at this stage in the game.

    12x1'

Avg. split was 1:40.68. Last interval came in at 1:36.7, and, with one exception, each piece was at least as fast as the one preceding it. The workout didn't actually feel too difficult, which I hope is a good sign. Testing Aug. 9.

    12' warmup

4x500m w/ 1 minute rest intervals (note: usually, we do these with equal rest intervals)

    1:39.7
    1:39.9
    1:39.8
    1:39.1

    Total: 2k in 6:38.5
    Fuck yeah.

Balls your distance is getting pretty damn strong.

Myself: morning - blasted legs with a deadlift-centric workout, then go to work, then back to the gym in the evening to test a 5k at close to max effort. Pulled a 1:52.4, 18:46.4 total time... was happy with this until I saw your time wmmk. I'm gettin there...
