How many hours does it take a tailor to make a 3-piece suit?

I was talking to a tailor last week who said for a three piece it's typically 20-40 hours depending on the materials, details, intricacies of the fit etc.

But of course, that's spread out over weeks.

Jacket 40 hours average, some more, some less.
The break down: cutting and trimming, 2 hours; try-on with pockets, 10 hours; prep to finish, 2 hours; build the suit, 20 hours; finish + pressing, 6+ hours; post about it on SF, 15 minutes

Trouser 10 to 12 hours

Vest 8 hours

This is an individual coat maker working on the bench
