How long should one let shoe cream set into the shoe? Is there a period that is too long? Too short? Does the length of set-time affect the coloration? Thanks, luvz.

a few hours is how long I let it sit, if it is a heavy application.
Sometimes if I am not going to wear the shoes for a while, I let it sit till I wear them again, then buff.
It depends on what the need is. If it is maintenance you can let it set for say 30 minutes.
If it is to restore, I recomend several heavy applications (always with trees in the shoes) and long dry times.
