How is the fit on this linen suit?

Freshly delivered, unaltered...
Obviously the sleeves need shortening a little (right?)
But is there anything else obviously wrong with this? Looks and feels fine to me , but that's been the case with plenty of other things that I've posted on here, and people have quickly informed me are without hope...
Anything that could be fixed by an alterations person? Anything that makes it irredeemable?

The jacket length looks ok. Based on the pics and the drape, particularly when viewed from behind, it would appear that the jacket is too wide through the shoulders. There's a lot of excess baggage hanging off the back and a lot of fabric bunching under the sleeve head.

The pants look ok. Just need to be tailored a bit, but the jacket just looks a bit large on you.

Thanks ... Do you think the jacket could be made acceptable with some tailoring?
What would you suggest the trousers need?

Am I right in thinking that because the suit is linen I can get away with wearing it as separates? I tried the trousers on with a shirt I like, and it looked ok to me. But would this be a big faux Pas?

Based on what I see, the trousers just need to be hemmed.

An alterations tailor would be able to advise you on the specifics of your other question. Altering a jacket involves technical matters which are best left to a professional. In general, yes, it is possible to tailor a jackets fit. Whether the changes needed here are possible, I’m not sure.

As for wearing them as separates, the general rule is no when it comes to suits. However, linen is a pretty casual fabric and so in this case I think you should be ok.
