How is the Allen Edmonds Lombard?

Worth $300? (It's $285 on Zappos.) Well, there isn't much competition at that price point. Florsheim has some wingtips ranging from $70ish to $200, give or take, though they really can't compare. The more expensive florsheims aren't that bad, just not as good as they used to be.

Allen Edmonds aren't perfect, and not everyone likes them, but the question is, do you? If $300 is too rich for your budget or you aren't willing to pay the credit card interest, or the styling doesn't move you, or the fit isn't right, then the answer is no. If you want em; buy em, wear em, and take good care of them. A good pair of shoes will last at least a decade. Always a worthwhile investment.

Thanks SF (a new me)

I have the Lombard in walnut and really like them. I am a big fan of the Executive rubber sole - looks like leather but you get the traction/water resistance of rubber. And you can get them recrafted.

I have a high instep, so the blucher works well for me. And I really like the style. I am currently contemplating the Lombard in burgundy. But I have some Strawfuts coming, so I will have to reload the shoe budget.

I think they are worth the $285 asking price.

Here are my walnut Lombards.

I have a pair of Lombard in burgundy that I ordered from the AE Shoe Bank seconds sale that ends today: $139 plus sales tax for a very handsome and well-made shoe with the most insignificant blemish. If you want first-quality, order from Endless. I don't know when the sale will end, but right now they are 20% off the retail price of $284.95 with free two-day shipping. Unfortunately, the Lombard on Endless it seems is available only in D width.
