Hello everybody.

Im new to the forum so if this is posted in the wrong place I apologize.

Anyway I just started taking in interest in dressing better. I am building up a nice wardrobe of decent shirts and denim. The question I have is with boots.

I have two pair of boots already (alden 403's, and a natural oak street bookmakers trench boot) and I want one more. What I am thinking about are the C&J Islay.

Since I never need to dress fancy I was wondering if I can get away with wearing these with nice jeans? Also what type of shirts/tops could I get away with wearing?

Thank you for the help!

The pictures below are from the boots boots boots thread.

You certainly can wear dress boots with jeans. Remember though, they are dress boots. So, it would look a bit odd with a tee-shirt and casual shirts. More appropriate with nicer button-downs and/or any type of sweater that has a dress-casual style to it. Think of it like this - if the shirt would look weird with a pair of nice chinos, it would look off with dress boots. But dress boots work great with jeans and an appropriate top.

Sorry, but I don't see a direction in your outfit, other than just jeans and boots. If I've learned anything here it's start with a theme. Are you trying for ironic business man with the boots/jeans/collared shirt? Or, did you just lay down rail road ties wearing those boots? GL
