How Expensive are the Tops You Wear?

What is the average retail price of the top(s) you wear outside of work? This seems harder to gauge than the cost of jeans, for example. Comments are fine, but please answer the poll. If you are layering, please add up the prices of the tops that you are layering.

I stay towards relatively cheap tops, usually from J.Crew, AA, or H&M

Yes, tops are sweaters, tees, polos, button-front shirts, henleys, etc. But not outerwear.

I'm about the same. Not sure how that averages out. I voted 30-50 but maybe I should have gone one up as my outerwear is usually several hundred and I have quite a few.

SS Tees: $20 (AA etc)
LS Tees & similar: $80 - 100
Sweaters: $100-500 ish (if retail is less than $100 I'd assume quality is lacking and take a very hard look)
Shirts: $100-200

Tees: cheap (these days mostly Gap fitted) so <$30-40

Button-down shirts: mostly cheap, but I have a few bespoke. The cheap ones are $30-40; the bespoke shirts were $150-200 each.

Sweaters: don't really wear 'em

Jackets: $100-200 (casual); $350-550 (leather, but to be fair my $550 was a custom Vanson and includes armor)
