How does my suit fit?

Hello!

I bought a suit for upcoming weddings and I wanted it to double as an interview suit.
So I thought a dark navy suit would fit the bill, and I'll change the shoes and add a fun tie + pocket square combination.

I have a hard time buying suits, I'm a 38 across the shoulders but I'm 5'6 and my waist is 28", inseam is probably 29"..

It cost me €600, I had it taken in roughly 1/2" around the waist, and the same around the midsection.
I had the sleeves slightly shortened.
I had the trousers shortened (they were unfinished).

I think there is too much fabric around the sleeves and that needs to be slimmed down a little.

I think I need a slight bit more taken in around the chest.

To have the trousers taken in slightly and to get rid of the full break and go with a quarter or half break as I'm a shortish guy at 5'6.

Edit - How much would all that cost me? I only picked up the suit yesterday and I was rushing so I didn't check the fit out fully.

What do you think?

I think the entire thing could be slimmed a bit, but it would have been easier to start with a slimmer fitting suit to begin with. Shoulders fit well.

I think your white shirt sleeve and the suit sleeves are still a bit long. Pants should only 'break' once.

I think your observation regarding the sleeves is correct, and in my opinion they should have been shortened more. I do not see any reason for slimming down the chest. The biggest problem to my mind is the length of the jacket. It is too short. Also, you should send pictures of the back as a suit may look wonderfully from the front and still be a mess from behind.
