How do you tell?

Hi,

Just a question: How does one tell, if not told beforehand, that an article of clothing is made of silk? What can we see or feel in clothing made of silk?
By the way, when they say 'smooth as silk', how true is it?

Thanks.

Silk is so versatile, I don't believe one can answer your question satisfactorily. I have many items made of silk in my wardrobe, and not one feels/looks like any of the others. I suggest you educate yourself by going to a place like Saks or Nordstrom and ask to see garments made of silk so you can better gauge for yourself.
