    (x-post from 3Sixteen thread)

GF's first foray into the world of raw denim. 3sixteen+ 99BSP, size 27, true waist 26", hips (butt?) 35". Thanks to Kiya for patience with sizing!

Hey! So I bought these in a 27 and I could barely button them and I could not zip them up entirely. When they were on they fit perfect everywhere except for the waist. How have yours worn in? They look tight in the waist in your pictures, but not as tight as they were with me. I returned them for a size 28. I am a little scared about my decision and just wondered how your 3Sixteens are wearing in? Thanks SO MUCH!

    +bajillions.

Don't have any 3sixteen, but if they are raw they will stretch a couple inches in the waist. I wore mine to bed for a while.

Nice way to drive off the ladies. Though people would have learned by now that girls do not find comments like this by random strangers complementary.

This probably is not the right thread but I am going to ask anyway. I am going to be in Honolulu and Vegas over the next two weeks and am thinking of taking the raw denim plunge. Are there any places in either of those two cities that would be recommended stops for that purpose?

personally i would have kept the 27s. I hate it when my jeans stretch to the point where i need a belt to keep them up

i agree with the sentiment, but there's a degree of irony in this post.

I'll have to ask her and get back to you. I know that so far she's loving them, but I'll have to get back to you with the details. I do know that she didn't struggle as much as you did to zip them up, so maybe switching to the 28's was a good idea for you.

Sizing down on zip-fly denim is kinda risky. Even after the waist stretches, there's no guarantee that the zipper will stay all the way up.

^Meh, I had issues with my pipe legs initially but now all is well. I think initial difficulties translate into eventual stretch to the appropriate degree. Embrace the pain.

^ You mean the pain of a half-open zipper?

    Anyway, Sugar Cane 1966:

My first pair of true repros (purchased for a song off the supermarket), and the first pair of jeans where I don't really "get" the value or the justification behind the retail price tag. I don't question the historical authenticity, but I kinda wonder whether this model was worth reproducing to such exacting specifications. No hidden rivets, denim is better than average but by no means spectacular, color isn't anything special. Seems like the other companies that used the 1966 model as their basis and then added extra details had the right idea.

I went TTS at 30 x 34. I maybe could've sized down one, since the waist started slightly snug but stretched to comfortable on the first day, and I started out with an hour hot soak. This is in spite of the SE recommendation to size up one or two. YMMV, I suppose.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Not gonna wear these much once I get the SExDB12s, but I'll keep 'em on hand for the next time I wanna rock the Castro clone look, I guess.

    Momotaro 701 :: 15.7 oz :: 100% Zimbabwe cotton :: SU1 @W34 :: fit :: double hot soaked :: current measurements : w= 33.75, ins [hemmed]= 33, f/rise= 10, b/rise= 14, u/t= 12.25, kne= 9, l/o= 8.5 :: fit & measurement__ exactly like PBJ 007 'cept on the leg opening.

newly painted acrylic " Inversed" GTB stripe [low-profile]. i find the white stripe a bit too much of an attention grabber, so i made them sorta low-profile & stealthy [ei.,while denim is still raw+dark]. hence, the "Special Ops" concept/version.

the denim is still stiff & starchy even after the double hot soak__ will take a few days for it to adopt to my contours.
