How do you optimize the fit of your pants? I'd like to slim down my pants. I don't want them to look sloppy. However, I'm not looking for skinny fit pants. Do you have any particular measurements or formulas that you use for this? For example is there a common cuff diameter for this type of fit that I'm looking for?

I don't like when I get extra fabric flapping around the lower legs. I'm thinking that a 2 inch pinch of fabric from the cuff to behind the knees should offer plenty of room and still provide a tailored fit. Do you think a 2 inch pinch would be enough or do you have a different formula for this? Slimming the area from the knees down seems fairly low risk b/c the lower legs don't bend/stretch/expand like the upper legs.
