I'm looking for a suede chukka with a Dainite sole. Some time ago I tried the Chiltern by Crockett & Jones. It looks rather bulbous in that picture, but seemed less so IRL. And in post # 26 here it looks pretty good, I think.

What do you think about it?

Would you go with the Snuff or the Dark Brown colour?

I like the Chiltern a lot, and it is less bulbous in person than in the catalogue photo. IMO the dark brown is less casual than the snuff, thus more versatile. I think you could wear them will grey flannels or with jeans. Whereas the snuff (which I have in the Latimer) looks good with jeans or a casual pant like a chino, but can't really be worn with greys.

I like the look of the Tetbury more so than the Chiltern.

If only going by pictures, I would agree. But on my foot, shoes on the 348 last end up looking and feeling too long.

I was planning to do it the other way around: Getting the Chiltern in Snuff suede and the Worcester in Dark Brown suede

^ Sounds like the way to go. I think the suede of the Worcester is treated somehow to help repel water. Not sure if that affects your decision one way or the other.

Yes, it's made with 'Repello Suede'. I don't know a lot about it, so if someone has reasons why it shuld be avoided I'd sure like to hear about it...

Any ideas about sizing on C&J Chiltern Chukka? I wear an 11D Alden on the Barrie last. Thanks for the help.
