How Do You Feel When You See Someone Wearing the Same Outfit As You?

Have you ever walked down the street to see someone wearing the same outfit or same article you own on the same or any other day?

Personally, it makes me feel awkward on the rare occasion it happens.

There was a funny squib in Reader's Digest lo these many years ago about a white guy who goes to a restaurant dressed in a black suit, black shirt, and white tie only to run into a black guy dressed in a white suit, white shirt, and black tie. One of them broke silence by saying "one of us must be the negative."

This is why I only wear clothing produced by artisans. And after I take delivery of each item I make sure to blind, or cut off the hands of the craftsman so that he can never make a duplicate.

It has happened to me a couple times with a Target sweater and a BR sweater. The BR one I returned because it didn't fit right but since then I have seen it everywhere.

Something else that is weird is tha tI bought these spring plaid trousers from Nordy Rack and I see the exact same fabric last month on women's clothes at H&M, weird.

I'm working on getting certification of artisan status. They've finished their personal statement essays but the written exam portion is tricky.

Like most here, I've never seen someone else dress like me. Once in a great big blue moon someone will own a piece that I do and it's even more rare that I'm upset by it.

Oddly enough, this situation happened to my friend last night. We were walking around the mall and she noticed an outfit while windowshopping. She quietly noted how good it looked before realizing the mannequin had the same top she was wearing only in blue instead of white. She purchased her top in the US two years ago and yet here it was in Costa Rica. She was amused.

When I started seeing hipsters wearing slimmer jeans and pea coats all over the place, I felt a bit bummed by my sudden ubiquity.

But other than that general uniform that I've been wearing by default for like 5 years and hipsters have recently adopted, it rarely happens.

I went to class one day wearing APCs and Onitsuka Tigers. The guy next to me was wearing APCs and Onitsuka Tigers. I didn't really know what to think. I guess I was kind of annoyed. Dropped the class though so it isn't a problem anymore (obviously not for that reason)

I live on a college campus, everybody wears the same thing at the gym: give away's from all the random events on campus...does that count?
