How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

Right now, I’m sticking to essentials. There’s a lot of uneasiness and I’ll hold my powder dry for a few more weeks.

Besides, anything I would indulge in is closed down for now. I don’t like buying clothing online so I’ll wait until things open back up.

You should add a choice for not spending on non-essentials because one does not want to receive deliveries of packages or further strain or expose the people who are preparing the packages and making the deliveries.

Not going out to eat, movies, etc means I've spent a few bucks on eBay and yoox without feeling too guilty. My daughter's birthday is in a week, and I got a bunch of stuff on Amazon a few weeks back. I ordered all at the same time to make it easier on the delivery folks, but it all came separate anyway.

I have had the listing on the site for months and have not bumped the listing since the middle of Feb. I am clearly not in a rush to sell and ship.

Mostly don't want to spend money on anything but food/necessities right now but I also see all the sales going on. It's not so much that I can't resist a sale, but rather I see the sales as a sign that businesses are struggling

I voted for #2, but I'm really a combination of several of the options. I'm getting takeout more than I did before because I want to help out local restaurants I like. I'm not buying any new clothes, although I was planning to do that before COVID-19. And because I'm liquid with good job security (fed lawyer) and am saving money that I otherwise would be spending on bars, restaurants, travel, and ride-sharing services, I might spend some money on luxuries like art and watches.

they’re struggling but they’ve also been able to offload quite a bit of overhead with rent/lease payment abatements and furloughs. Slashing prices is one of trying to keep some sort of revenue stream alive.

Prior to all of this, I received a $250 gift card from Paul Stuart. It expires on 4/30 (the last day of our shelter in place order in Chicago....I hope) and it’s not good for anything online. I’ll certainly try to use it when they open back up again.

I work everything out with the buyer in advance of completing the transaction. My B&S feedback speaks for itself.

I work in health care, and if anything I am working more than before covid-19. My social budget has dropped to zero. I take advantage of the sales going on to support stores I like and pick up stuff i not necessarily need, but still are on my wish/buy list.
