I had asparagus ice cream at one of the very best restaurants in NYC. It was awesome. I imagine they would make cilantro ice cream divine.

cilantro is a staple in mexican, chinese, thai and filipino cuisine... can't imagine a world without it.

How are they different? Coriander is a staple of many moroccan dishes but when I buy it fresh, it's always sold interchangeably as cilantro.

Sorry, I was meaning coriander and coriander seed. In America, or at least in my area, cilantro means the stems and leaves, and coriander refers to the seeds.

I thought Cilantro and coriander where the same thing...

yep from wiki

Coriander (Coriandrum sativum) is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae. It is also known as Chinese parsley or, particularly in the Americas, cilantro

Love it, but don't use it in warm food much at all. I like it best with spicy and slightly sweet salsa/salads. Don't like it with anything creamy.

touch of rosemary on almost any meat roasting in an oven brings it up a notch.

Yeah but rosemary suffers the same problem as cilantro. People almost always overuse it. And it's worse w/ rosemary b/c it's used in a lot more styles of food.

true that... rosemary has a very strong presence, but the right amount gives the recipe a good kick.

one of our family's prized possession in our dinky li'l house is a pot of rosemary thats still alive after all these years, even under this tropical heat- that, basil and kaffir lime. now I'm considering growing cilantro too.
