Wear what fits you. Know your body and what looks good on you. There is nothing wrong with a nod the the latest fashion, but don't go overboard, especially if you are not comfortable with it.

I think staying with colors that work well for you and not what is in fashion. For example, grey washes out a lot of guys. It is fine for pants but as a jacket it can make you look pale in winter. So maybe you need a darker shade or pair it with a blue shirt and not white. Discovering what works best for you and not what is in fashion is the key.

I also agree that extreme cuts -too thin, too baggy, too high, too low, will all end up being out of fashion in a couple of years.

just wear what looks good on you and that you like. following a fad too much is a bad thing, but also being so caught up in panties about fear of following a fad is bad as well.

who cares what you wear is a fad or not. just wear what makes you look good. it may be a fad piece or it may not.

Wear clothes that truly, as in strictly, satisfy your taste and not of others. Most importantly, try as you might to avoid being influenced by another person's suggestion with regards to your choice of clothing.

If it was worn before, try looking at pictures. I find Will@ASW does a good job with his old mens magazine drawings which show men up to 80 years ago that are still rather stylish albiet slightly out of tune in todays world. For something that hasn't come along yet, probably look at the runways and see what Thom Browne, Versache, and the other high end "designers/houses" are doing. If you are trying to develop everything yourself, I guess you can roll out of bed and do anything you want than, eh?
