How do these loafers look?

They're pretty trad. AE's version of Gucci horsebits. I can't picture a 20-something in them unless that 20-something was all-out trad to begin with. (I looked through some of your other posts but I don't really have a good idea of your normal style.)

Why buy shoes you don't think you'll wear? It's not a good deal if you're not going to wear them, regardless of discount.

As for the price, there's a dozen pair on eBay right now for $112 BIN, but bids are under $100:

I'm also in my mid20s with no dependents but I can't imagine having the disposable income to blow $125 on shoes that I have no clue what to do with when they're not particularly on sale. (I can't imagine it because if my disposable income were that high, I'd be disposing it all on EGs, not AEs!) As mentioned in this thread, loafers on someone in their twenties can throw off a very bad vibe. The only loafers I have are Street; if I was willing to wear dress loafers, they sure as hell wouldn't be moccasins with a bit!

they're pretty much only to be worn in the summer without socks, right?

i'll at least take a look at them when they get here and make a decision then.

As young as you are, I'd only wear those if they were orange or something to make a statement.

Send 'em back unless you plan to wear them as an anti-fashion look.

The shoes are not of my liking too. But if you really like it, then wear them well.

I like them. But I am not 20. And I don't recall seeing anything I liked on a twentysomething in over 30 years!!

The black square toed dirty unpolished look isn't a hit with me.

If you wear these you might get some interest from someone that doesn't wear the ugly uniform most of your compatriots wear.

At least you won't be wearing the same stuff as everyone else does. And that has got to be a winner.

to give you my honest opinion,

i do not consider AEs made in italy with much regard. the soles are the wafer thin eggshell type soles very thin and not substantial and the leathers used a bit different lower grade.
the 125 price is fine for AEs of the goodyear MADE IN USA line but these are worth not even half that.
why?
ive felt them and tried them on and are not good.
also i seen many of these and similar ones at saks outlet sold for extra % off from around 119 or so , for a total of maybe around 70 dollars but i dont even touch them as i am telling you they do not look a shoe for me to waste even 70 bucks on.
hope this helps, just my 2 cents.
