I was given a Loro Piana cotton polo shirt as a gift and it is too big for me. How could I shrink it so it will fit me?

Thanks in advance.

Wash it in hot water and dry it real good in the dryer.

Tell the giftgiver that you love the shirt but would like to exchange it for the right size. Or see if LP will do exchanges for gifts. Otherwise, you're just going to keep getting clothing in the wrong size.

That said... hot dryer cycle.

Well as far as I know LP does not make a size smaller than a 48 in the US or at least I have never seen it.

If it's too big in the chest / sleeves you can fix this yourself or pay a tailor to do it. Length of sleeves and body are also easy to fix. However if it's too big in the shoulders by any amount, it will A) look silly if you tailor the chest/sleeves to fit you well and B) never really fit properly, I found this out the hard way. Shoulders pn a shirt are a ***** to tailor, don't bother.
