How do I match up to the attached dress?

Hello all,

I was wondering how to match up with the dress attached for a Ball. What color shirt and tie should I wear? I am currently wearing a fitted dark grey thinstripe suit with a medium brown belt and elegant medium brown shoes.

Cheers,
OP

I love my brown shoes, but they just won't be better than simple black (with a good shine) for a nighttime ball.

I guess you could wear something green that picks up the dress color. Try a plain shirt, a muted tie and a pocket square that picks up the color.

I wouldn't even bother trying to match your date. But I think josepidal is right: black is better at night than brown. Moreover, while I love blue shirts, I think the correct choice here would be solid white.

Don't bother. It's cheesy.

By the way, what's written on her arm?

Need more pictures of the girl in the dress, out of the dress, standing, laying down, naked too fo course to make sure we understand how her body works and all that to give you good advice.

Even as a joke, this really isn't funny.

I didn't say to match the girl's dress; I said to wear a pocket square that picks up the dress color while wearing a non-matching shirt and a non-matching tie.

forget matching - just make sure you get a nice room, fresh linen, a bottle of champagne and condoms - she has a very nice body.

Really uncalled for. OP asked for a legit question, and posted a pic of his date and this is what he gets from SF?

When I went to a ball (darn kids) I wore my Nehru suit with a white shirt and a burgundy tie with a white PS. My date and I share a favourite colour (cherry/burgundy) so she ended up wearing a dark cherry dress, it wasn't strange at all. But one couple showed up in the same colours. The guy had an aqua suit with a black shirt, and the girl an aqua dress, now THAT was cheesy.

Thank you for the replies. I am going right now and we are not matching. After thinking about it, it IS kinda cheesy. So I am going with a white shirt and burgundy tie. I will post pics of us just so you guys can judge.

I was gonna go with a blue shirt and white tie and black vest but... I decided against it.
