How do I know what types of leather jackets are in style?

leather jackets are just ONE of a million things I have no clue on as far as style.
In fact the only thing that I think are in style are jeans.

But yeah, what styles of leather jackets are "in"?

Do people wear [nonloud] motorcycle jackets (not talking Arnold/hell's angel biker jackets) without actually being motoriders?

Perhaps a question better asked in the Streetwear and Denim forum.

But to me the only acceptable leather jacket is the motorcycle jacket. All others remind me of the 70's and 80's and in the case of long leather coats the Nazis.

Avoid the one the Governor of Illinois was wearing the day before his arrest.
(see culverwood re: nazi, but think mafiaso).

But I like WWII aviator jackets.

Use process of elimination and go from there. At the very least, you should know this is a no go:

Yeah I think it fits well

It seems to me that sleeves with no cuffs/knits, and open/straight bottoms seem to be in style.

Wasn't sure about the biswing back though, with the strap attached
