How do I get rid of tongue pad residue?

Just wondering if anyone has a good method for removing the sticky residue left by a tongue pad without damaging the leather underneath?

I would hink that a mild solvent like Goof Off would be just fine. Apply to cloth, then wipe. Do not apply directly to the leather,

I thought that it was "Goo-Gone".
In any case, it should work, but
not directly on leather.

I've used a rubber (ie an 'eraser' for you Americans) with good effect. Cue laughter.

Just a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball will work. And if you are worried about the leather- just rub in some lexol afterwards.

Effective, yes... safe, I'm not so sure. It is the best product for stripping old polish off though. I can't find it anymore. Where do you get it?

Safe it is. I use it by the gallons. NEVER had a single problem with it. I buy it wholesale. You can probably find household sized cans in the large hardware stores.
