How do I clean my umbrella?

I got mud all over the canopy and I'm just wondering what is the best way to clean the umbrella? Thanks.

Use it when it's raining.

Pour water over it and wipe off the mudd off
Dip it in water and wipe the mud off
Pee on it and wipe the mudd off

I assume it's nylon. If so, just hose it off, then let it dry thoroughly.
