How can you dress badass in spring/summer?

I feel like in winter, it's easier to pull that look off, since you can wear boots, dark jeans, black jackets, and all that jazz(not that I'm trying to imply that is all it takes to make someone look badass--just that those are often used in such a manner).

However, when it gets hot, those types of items of clothing are just too uncomfortable. Even wearing the color black can be killer. But what if someone doesn't want to wear boat shoes, khaki shorts cut above the knee, and light-colored polos tucked in? Is there a middle ground here where one can still maintain some semblance of looking good without looking like they must be sweating like a horse or going to play croquet and take tea with the queen?

Considering all designers have summer collections, I'm not sure what you're getting at. Unless you are referring to the SF uniform, you do not have to dress like this though.

There are like 3-4 other summer related threads out there now.

Wish i had the money to wear a bunch of those alterna swedish brands (wester, jensen, vibskov, julian red, stoldal, etc...) in the spring summer since it looks like it'd keep the heat away and would be comfy

The only way to be a true bad ass is to either stick it out and rock your black leather jacket through the blistering summer heat, or just go naked.

Or be a samurai. You know with like, samurai pants and ****...hakama...

Not all hard, you're just thinking in one dimension.

Get a tribal arm band tattoo, or maybe one of a dragon, and then wear a lot of sleeveless tees.
