Sorry l can't help but yeah it is strange. l would have expected many replies by now. Sometimes l post articles and l don't get a response either, don't worry. People probably couldn't be bothered explaining about their shoes or maybe they haven't worn them enough to really be able to answer. l would love to know how many people have bought that shoes in the last 12 months.

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier... I've had mine now for about ten months and wear them once every two or so weeks - otherwise they always live in shoe trees and bags. No issues with creasing beyond the normal. Leather is becoming nice and supple and they continue to be a comfortable pair of shoes.
It will take a more experienced eye than mine to describe differences between EG and C&J handgrade uppers - I think they are both very good. It's hard to not talk about antiquing, though. The C&J's antiquing is less visible now than when I first bought them, despite following A Harris' advice of strategic polishing - perhaps I am not bold enough with my use of black polish...

I've had mine for 15 months and wear them perhaps once a week. The leather is supple and the finish of the inner is second to none. The leather is slightly more supple than that on my EG shoes (but not so supple as the leather used by Grenson for the masterpiece line).
I ordered from PLal - the brown they carry is a mid brown and not as dark as those sold here in the UK. I applied dark brown shoe (almost black) cream on my Weymouths when they were new and the antique effect is more noticeable than on my EG's.

I wonder if my use of polish has stripped away some of the antiquing? It is still subtly visible but is not as dramatic as it is on a pair of EGs that I have in burnt pine. I'll buy some cream and give that a try.
