Houston Tailors

I need a little help. I purchased a navy blue HF Madison suit for a bunch of interviews coming up. I put on some weight,10-20 lbs, so I don’t really want to get it tailored to my current fat A, but I want to look as good as I can regardless. This is a nice suit to me so I dont want to mess it up...

1)If I drop the weight can tailors easily alter the pants and jacket? 2) I’ve looked through a number of old threads regarding tailors in Houston and Saigon Tailors (Speak good English???) on Main Street and Nick Lopez by the Galleria seem to be the most recommended. Is this still the case? I need this job done by next Monday, so if these guys or too busy to get this done is there anyone else you would recommend?

Any competent tailor can alter trousers and jackets.

I recently had extensive work done by Nick Lopez, and I've also used Saigon Tailors in the past. Nick's shop does outstanding work. They are not cheap, and not fast, but if you communicate your timetable they should be able to let you know if they can accommodate you. I would definitely get over there tomorrow to have any shot of getting the garments back by Saturday. In the fall/winter my larger projects were taking several weeks (months in some cases), but those were done by Nick personally, so if you have something simpler they might be able to rush it through for you.

I've had mixed results with Saigon Tailors. They are very fast, affordable and friendly, and perfectly capable of executing routine alterations. You don't want to rely on them for anything complicated or requiring stylistic interpretation or consultation. If you can give them clear direction on what alterations you need they should be fine.

I've tried a few but for basic alterations at a reasonable price Angel Tailors has been doing some nice stuff for me. Diane who runs the shop at the corner of Chimney Rock and Woodway next to the Blockbusters is the dogs bollocks as we'd say back home. (That's a good thing!)

Nick Lopez is the only guy I trust in Houston. He is an awesome guy, fun to talk to and also very very good in his work.

Thanks for the replies. I will call Nick Lopez's shop first thing in the morning and if he is too busy, I will try Saigon Tailors.
