I recently visited a cousin who's a student in her own flat for the first time, and she doesn't have a lot of money so the place is very sparsely furnished. I was thinking of getting her a convertible couch of some sort. She also has a December birthday, so I was thinking of doing a housewarming/birthday/Christmas gift of a couch for her.

Has anyone seen this one from Overstock in the metal and fabric? I know she'll like the Ligne Roset Smala vibe, and the price seems reasonable if it's something that will last a few years. Has anyone seen it, or any other furniture from that brand?

No, I have not, but you're quite generous! You might want even to consider a 'regular' sofa, with a loose pillow, back. We have one in our family room . . . remove the pillows, and it's a bed.

if you want to be practical about it, perhaps a gift certificate from a furniture store would be more appreciated.
