I like Mr Lee's wardrobe...i heard he gets alot of it done at A man hing cheong. His brother...the guy in the govt that (i think) is in charge of education is not too shabby either..

No idea, but it reminds me of the little marker in the lapel holes you'll see on distinguished French professors. In France, it means you're a member of the Academie Française I think.

Can't say for sure for Mr. Lee, but the red pin for Donald Tsang (seen in the bottom photo) is the "Brand Hong Kong" symbol (a dragon's head made from Chinese characters that say Hong Kong). You can see it clearly on this web site: http://www.brandhk.gov.hk/brandhk/eindex.htm

Thought you would have pointed out his long jacket sleeves or short shirt sleeves, depending on how one views them. That seems to be pretty standard in mainland China.

there are a number of organizations whose members have similar pins - I can't remember the correct name for them. maybe rossetes. somewhat common in france, UK and US.
