Hong Kong Nightlife Recommedations?

A few friends are headed to Hong Kong this Spring and asked me to recommend some restaurants, bars, and clubs. Anyone got a suggestion?

I already gave them my old list, but it only covers the Midlevels.

Lan Kwai Fung is where most of the bars/clubs are. It is in Central on HK Island

Clubs: Dragon-i (upper G/F The Centrium Wyndham Street www.dragon-i.com.hk/) has a huge patio so you can mingle/get some fresh air/smoke and M1NT down Hollywood Road by the temple.

DimSum at Maxims at City Hall http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/CulturalSe...est_palace.php huge authentic colonial style dining room with chandeliers, harbor view and ladies with trolleys.

Jumbo floating restaurant as featured in Suzy Wong in Aberdeen. Top Deck (see Cafe Deco link below) for Sunday Brunch or below deck for Chinese.

Aqua 1 Peking Road on The Dark Side http://www.aqua.com.hk/ for the quintessential harbor view and Aqua Luna for floating around the harbor or a trip to Stanley on a Sunday.

Also on the Dark Side afternoon Tea at the Penninsula.

I'm not a fan of LKF. To be honest, I dont like most HK bars and think Knutsford Terrace, LKF, Wan Chai etc are geared towards tourists, expats, or dirty middle aged sex tourists (Wan Chai).

Tung Choi Street in Kowloon can be fun. Full of little Chinese gangster wannabees drinking Chivas and tea, playing dice and singing Canto-pop tunes. If thats your thing.

The block between Goldfish Street and the Flower and Bird Markets at Prince Edward? There now are a few erm welcoming looking bars on there that do not have blacked out windows and a possible cleaver wielding clientele... and worth a mention on that strip is the Piggy Chickee Guangdong style Dimsum & Hotpot restaurant at #228.

Uhh, guys, did you see his original "old list." I think it's pretty obvious he knows about LKF.

Looking for some good recs here, as I will be in HK in about 3 weeks. Hoping to meet up with some of the SF mafiosi while i'm out there.

Yup, thats the area. I actually like the change of scenery and they are only putting on a tough guy front.

Also found a couple of random bars in back of shopping centers and up strange staircases in Mong Kok.

I guess I prefer those to an Irish bar in LKF...

Even though kaxixi recommended Barco on Staunton Street I should and thus shall still note the Feather Boa next door for ambiance, chocolate sprinkled strawberry Daiquiris and martinis...

Linq and Sapphire on Pottinger Street are a couple of quieter bars with step level stools just away from the LKF mass...

And the ole staples Red, Isola and the other alfresco bars on Podium Level4 of IFC overlooking tha fragrant harbor... which due to whatever public ordinance are also BYO but don't expect a cushion...

oh and Sevva atop of the Princes Building...
