Homemade pocket square

Yesterday was sewing Saturday. I fixed a pair of my wife's trousers, sewed some patches on my daughter's Brownie uniform and dealt with some loose shirt buttons. My daughter and I also did a pillowcase skirt project.

Inspired by all the needle and thread action, I decided to take David Hober's admonition to make homemade pocket squares to heart. I took an Ike Behar shirt from my pre-bespoke days--shirt that fit poorly but whose fabric I quite liked--and followed David's instructions.

It took a while, more than three hours of actual work. Getting the roll was difficult; on two of the sides it did OK, but on the others it turned out flat and thick.

Here are some pics of the final result.

Looks good. I tried that once with a vintage Ferre shirt that was made of a luscious silky fabric.
