So I have all these mother of pearl loose buttons and I didn't know what to do with them. And then I thought about how I don't always want to look as formal wearing French cuff shirts. So I figured that I would try to make a false barrel cuff look by putting two mop buttons back to back and making cufflinks of them. Then instead of cuffing the shirt cuff flat, I would roll the cuff like a barrel and then cuff them round. This is the result (there's one photo where it's done up normally). I was sorta inspired to post it after seeing Antirabbit's thread about making homemade ties from unwanted cashmere sweaters. Has anybody else done this?

I like those more than silk knots for a very simple look for French cuffs. For some reason, I've never been a fan of silk knots.

I actually prefer this style of cufflinks to anything other.
