Holy Geez!!

I went out with 8 other people to dinner tonight and didn't have to pick up the slack on the tab...1st time ever!!

You decided to have a "sword fight" to settle the debt? I guess if you play the numbers, you'll eventually win.

Do you just add tip and then split the tab however many ways??

I dont normally have problems with friends when we split bills like that. Maybe its just my friends

I do not do this, just due to the fact that my girlfriend and I do not drink alcohol, and thats usually a large portion of the bill

If I go out with 1-2 other people then yes; but, half of these people are cheap and will order and appetizer and try to stretch that out the whole meal.

Although I agree that it's a hassle to split the tab up I really find myself picking up the slack on the tab much like SoCal2NYC. I guess it's because I'm a little better off than my group of friends but I always find myself having to throw extra in because someone is being a ***** about something. (Usually tip)

actually, it was because of having to pick up the slack that I just stopped counting it out. if somebody really wants to count it out - I'll toss down my card and say "ok, you get it next time" and usually just not go out with them again. it used to really piss me off to have to put down an extra 5 bucks or 10 bucks every single time.

Just hand them the cards and say split it between these, they do that everywhere.
